The Book of Job - 01

Job 1:5 - And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

Blake summarized the 42 chapters of the biblical book in 21 prints and put the episodes in his own order.
The list below shows the full titles followed by the common title.
  1. Thus did Job continually (based upon Job 1:5) or Job and His Family
  2. When the Almighty was yet with me, When my Children were about me (Job 29:5) or Satan Before the Throne of God
  3. Thy Sons & thy Daughters were eating & drinking Wine in their eldest Brothers house & behold there came a great wind from the Wilderness & smote upon the four faces of the house & it fell upon the young Men & they are Dead (Job 1:18?1:19) or Job's Sons and Daughters Overwhelmed by Satan
  4. And I only am escaped alone to tell thee. (Job 1:15) or The Messengers Tell Job of His Misfortunes
  5. Then went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord (Job 2:7) or Satan Going Forth from the Presence of the Lord and Job's Charity
  6. And smote Job with sore Boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head (Ibid.) or Satan Smiting Job with Boils
  7. And when they lifted up their eyes afar off & knew him not they lifted up their voice & wept, and rent every Man his mantle & sprinkled dust upon their heads towards heaven (Job 2:12) or Job's Comforters

  9. Then a Spirit passed before my face the hair of my flesh stood up (Job 4:15) or The Vision of Eliphaz

  16. Thou hast fulfilled the Judgment of the Wicked (Job 36:17) or The Fall of Satan

  19. Every one also gave him a piece of Money (Job 42:11)
  20. There were not found Women as fair as the Daughters of Job in all the Land & their Father gave them Inheritance among their Brethren (Job 42:15) or Job and His Daughters
  21. So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than the beginning (Job 42:12) or Job and His Family Restored to Prosperity
